Ultrasound Training – Shepparton

An opportunity for Junior Doctors in the GV region to complete an ultrasound training course in Shepparton.


Four Ultrasound modules being offered in Shepparton by industry training provider Zedu. These modules are valued at $500 each, and are being heavily subsidized by the GV Regional Training Hub.

Saturday 27th MORNING

  • Core Module – Vascular access. This module is mandatory and a pre-requisite to completing any other module. Use ultrasound system controls to optimize imaging for accurate diagnosis. Develop proficiency in probe manipulation to efficiently acquire diagnostic images. Use a systematic approach to conduct ultrasound assessment of the vascular anatomy for injection. Demonstrate ultrasound guided needle placement in plane and out of plane for vascular access and procedural applications using ultrasound simulators.

Saturday 27th AFTERNOON

  • eFAST – Describe the limitations and clinical integration of the eFAST ultrasound examination. Apply the eFAST protocol to conduct a systematic ultrasound assessment of a trauma patient.

Sunday 28th MORNING

  • Lung – Learn how to integrate lung ultrasound into the assessment of the arrested, breathless, febrile or shocked patient. Utilise lung ultrasound for the diagnosis and management of covid-19. Understand how the image is generated to successfully correlate with the clinical presentation.

Sunday 28th AFTERNOON

  • Cardiac – Refresh 3D cardiac anatomy, Describe the 4 basic sonographic views used in an echo examination, Use a systematic approach to acquire the basic views of the heart
