Medical students, junior doctors and new community members were warmly welcomed into the Goulburn Valley Community by over 25 groups and organisations at the annual FriendShepp event in March.
Designed to connect new arrivals with groups and organisations that they may be interested in joining, the event was held at the fantastic Museum of Vehicle Evolution in Kialla. Many attendees were amazed that such an incredible museum was housed in the region, and vowed to bring back friends and visitors.
FriendShepp was strongly supported by the GV region, with over 25 community groups coming along and manning a stall, with representation across sporting groups, arts, performing arts, volunteering, gardening, special interest, LGBTQIA+, gaming and more.
Food trucks and live music by the wonderful Ellia & Keegan rounded out the chilled vibe.
Attendees commented that they were surprised by the variety of activities they could get involved in within the region, and most left the evening have signed up to at least one group or club.
FriendShepp was hosted this year in partnership with The Community Connector Program and GV Health.
